Korin McMillen
Korin H. McMillen is thrilled to be serving on the Board of Directors for the Blackhawk School District Education Foundation. Korin is a proud alumnus of Blackhawk High School, and currently resides in Chippewa Township, with her husband, Mark, and two adult children, Jackson and Ava. Korin has dedicated herself to over 25 years in education, special education, and the field of mental health. She is currently the Director of Special Education for the St. Anthony School Programs. In this role, she oversees services and programming for students with special needs in select Catholic elementary schools and high schools in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, while leading the organization’s initiatives and inclusive programming. Prior to this position, Korin held administrative positions in the Blackhawk School District where she helped build the capacity of schools to support students with more complex special needs and led efforts to improve overall special education services. As a school psychologist, Korin has evaluated and worked with students who have varying exceptional needs, including Autism, intellectual disabilities, learning needs, and giftedness. Korin also has extensive experience developing School-Based Mental Health programs, Student Assistance Programs, and providing staff development and trainings.
Korin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in Psychology from West Virginia University, a Master of Arts in Professional Psychology from Geneva College, an Advanced Graduate degree in School Psychology from Duquesne University, and a Masters of Education with Principal certification from Westminster College.
In addition to serving on the BSDEF Board, Korin is also a Board member for the Blessed Bag Charitable organization, which provides high quality comfort bags to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment. In her free time, Korin enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf, and traveling to any beach destination. Korin and her family are members of St. Monica Church in the St. Augustine Parish.
